On August 4, 2001, Maron left Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on her 750cc Honda Magna to begin her journey around the world. During the next two years and eleven months, she traveled into forty four countries on six continents. Maron’s first book, Untamed Spirit, describes the first nineteen months of her journey. This second book chronicles the second half of her journey, beginning March 4, 2003, in Nepal. From there she traveled to China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Morocco, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Central America, finally completing her tour on June 30, 2004. Traveling mostly solo, she faced fears, doubts, and loneliness, but she gained a wealth of education that cannot be obtained from a textbook—making lasting friendships around the globe, experiencing other cultures, and satisfying her passion to see the world. Untamed Spirit II continues the story of Maron’s experiences traveling as a lone woman into countries around the globe. It’s a story of adventure and challenge—and of living a dream.

Visit us online at www.1stWorldLibrary.ORG - - Hauptmann Fritz Schneider trudged wearily through the somber aisles of the dark forest. Sweat rolled down his bullet head and stood upon his heavy jowls and bull neck. His lieutenant marched beside him while Underlieutenant von Goss brought up the rear, following with a handful of askaris the tired and all but exhausted porters whom the black soldiers, following the example of their white officer, encouraged with the sharp points of bayonets and the metal-shod butts of rifles. There were no porters within reach of Hauptmann Schneider so he vented his Prussian spleen upon the askaris nearest at hand, yet with greater circumspection since these men bore loaded rifles - and the three white men were alone with them in the heart of Africa.

Creation Untamed Theological Explorations For The Church Catholic from the Author: Terence E. Fretheim. Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, and hurricanes have plagued the history of the earth. What is God's role in natural disasters and the human suffering they cause? This is one of the most vexing questions in Christian life and theology. Terence Fretheim offers fresh readings of familiar Old Testament passages--such as creation, the flood, and the suffering of Job--to give readers biblical resources for working through this topic. He shows the God of the Bible to be a compassionate, suffering, relational God, one we can turn to in prayer in times of disaster.

The Untamed God from the Author: Jay W. Richards. God is sovereign. God is perfect. God is immutable. God created everything. God is triune. The Son of God was incarnate in Jesus Christ. The essential tenets of classical theism regarding the doctrine of God can be stated fairly easily. However, questions have been raised regarding the coherence of these beliefs taken as a whole. Some have seen fit to abandon classical theism. Others have acknowledged tensions in the traditional concept of God and have sought to resolve them by means of making significant concessions. Jay Wesley Richards believes that classical theism with its biblical norm can and ought to be maintained. He shows how a philosophical defense, using the analytical tools of modal logic, can be mounted that preserves traditional Christian beliefs. Richards astutely defends essentialism, arguing that it is both intrinsic to the Christian understanding of God and preserves the contingency of creation and the God-world relation. To further clarify and defend his proposal he engages appreciatively and critically the thought of Karl Barth and Charles Hartshorne as well as addressing the related and currently debated matters of divine simplicity and immutability.
