Current Signature Analysis For Condition Monitoring Of Cage Induction Motors from the Author: William T. Thomson. Provides coverage of Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) for cage induction motors This book is primarily for industrial engineers. It has 13 chapters and contains a unique data base of 50 industrial case histories on the application of MCSA to diagnose broken rotor bars or unacceptable levels of airgap eccentricity in cage induction motors with ratings from 127 kW (170 H.P.) up to 10,160 kW (13,620 H.P.). There are also unsuccessful case histories, which is another unique feature of the book. The case studies also illustrate the effects of mechanical load dynamics downstream of the motor on the interpretation of current signatures. A number of cases are presented where abnormal operation of the driven load was diagnosed. Chapter 13 presents a critical appraisal of MCSA including successes, failures and lessons learned via industrial case histories. The case histories are presented in a step by step format, with predictions and outcomes supported by current spectra and photographic evidence to confirm a correct or incorrect diagnosis The case histories are presented in detail so readers fully understand the diagnosis The authors have 108 years of combined experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, design, manufacture, operation and condition monitoring of SCIMs There are 10 questions at the end of chapters 1 to 12 and answers can be obtained via the publisher Current Signature Analysis for Condition Monitoring of Cage Induction Motors serves as a reference for professional engineers, head electricians and technicians working with induction motors. The Broken Spear from the Author: Jacob M. Van Zyl. Man and beast exert themselves to survive—by fight, flight, or submission. Respecting the pecking order prevents conflict, but when leaders are challenged, lethal fights for dominance may occur. However, the survival of the fittest is sometimes thwarted by the sheer tenacity of the underdog. In first century Corinth, nine-year-old Jason is teased and bullied by his pugnacious rival, Krato, who is two years older. Jason’s grandfather urges him to take the submissive role until he and his rival are both adults. Then the two year difference will vanish, enabling Jason to throw off Krato's reign by beating him in the discus and javelin events at the Isthmian Games. When that long anticipated day arrives, Jason is both winner and loser. His dream turns into a nightmare. He flees for his life, bringing immense hardship on himself and his beloved Tabitha. Sexy Diana tries luring Jason in the wrong direction. The apostle Paul arrives with the holy gospel in their wicked city. The Christian message is woven into the fabric of choices and consequences. Circumstances beyond their control eventually bring the four Corinthians together in a place of horror. In the face of death, old beliefs are turned upside down. They only have a broken spear for defense.

The Silvered Cage from the Author: John Russell Fearn. For an illusionist to make a woman vanish from a cage is merely a parlor trick, because the person must go somewhere; but in this instance the woman really DOES disappear, in full view of an audience, and cannot be found afterwards. This seeming impossibility is the commencement of a completely baffling puzzle, which even Scotland Yard finds hard to crack. And then the magician himself is found murdered in his flat, lending credence to the notion that the woman has also been killed. Scotland Yard enlists the aid of the indomitable Dr. Carruthers, a genius who specializes in solving scientific puzzles. But can Carruthers unravel the diabolical plot--or will THE SILVERED CAGE, a solid metal structure allowing neither entry nor exit, continue to contain its mystery? A scientific detective thriller with several exciting plot twists!

Broken Cage from the Author: Joseph P. Wood. Poetry. "Joseph P Wood's BROKEN CAGE is a formal and sonic work of virtuosity. Playful and earnest, the poems in this collection tell the story of loss and its spectacle. Wood invents a gilded world of courtly love, lifeboats, and 'hives of misfiring' that's arresting and vigorous."—Carmen Giménez Smith
