Strike The Dragon from the Author: Charles H. Dyer. A cell phone awakens a young mother in a Palestinian refugee camp. The simple message, "It is time," jolts her awake. Dressing in clothes that once belonged to her dead husband, she asks her mother to watch her young son. Upon arriving at the mosque she meets the man who had called. He takes her to two other men who will transport her, and the bomb she will wear, to the proper destination-the West Bank city of Ariel. A story of international terrorism and intrigue unfolds across the globe. Special agents and covert operatives track clues to pinpoint the probability of an attack that will dwarf previous attempts to strike where it hurts the most.

Dragon Strike from the Author: Humphrey Hawksley. At 06.00 on February 18, 2001, the roar of the engines from twelve Russian-built SU-27s ripped through Vietnamese airspace. Within minutes burning phosphorus, shrapnel, and delayed reaction mines were falling on Vietnam's main naval base. Operation Dragonstrike had begun. The Far Fast was at war. The world was in crisis. Four days later American satellites detected Chinese nuclear missiles being prepared for launch. This is an authentically and authoritatively constructed account in which the United States, Asia and Europe become dramatically and unavoidably enmeshed in the war. It has the page-turning quality of best-selling fiction, yet the events here make up a real-life scenario which horrifies Western defence planners. Dragonstrike provides an insider's view of what the coming world crisis may be like. The Dragon will strike. Where, when, and how we don't know, exactly. But it will, and Hawksley and Holberton are convincing and compulsively readable in their predictions.

The Dragon Who Loved Me from the Author: G.A. Aiken. I was raised for battle. And as the first daughter of a warrior family, I've earned my reputation the hard way. Yet now I fight alongside uncivilized male Northland dragons who think a female is only good for breeding and waiting back home in the cave. But it's the foolish and foolhardy who would try to stop me, Rhona the Fearless, from doing what I do best—destroying the enemies of my kind. So the smartest thing wily barbarian Vigholf the Abhorrent can do for me is stay out of my way as we risk all on a deadly mission in enemy territory. I don't care if he's fascinated by me, even though he is as attractive as he is resourceful. He's having far too much fun putting me in difficult situations and testing my sense of duty to the limit. And I'm going to enjoy challenging his insufferable confidence, outwitting his schemes, and making him surrender in the wildest ways. . . "Sexy and outrageous humor." --Romantic Times

Passing By The Dragon from the Author: J. Ramsey Michaels. This book attempts a close reading of the fiction of Flannery O'Connor, story by story, with one eye on her use of the Bible, and her view of the Bible in relation to her own work. After introductory chapters on O'Connor's markings in her own Roman Catholic Bible, her book reviews in diocesan newspapers, and her impatience with her wayward readers, Michaels looks first at her two novels, Wise Blood and The Violent Bear It Away, and then at seventeen of her short stories from her two collections, A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Everything That Rises Must Converge. Michaels takes notice of O'Connor's explicit references to the Bible (or Bibles) in her stories, and looks more particularly to the ways in which the stories are driven at least in part by specific biblical texts. Among the themes that emerge are alienation or displacement, what it means to be "good," the relation between body and spirit and between the Old Testament and the New, issues of race and gender, and above all what O'Connor once called "the action of grace in territory held largely by the devil."

A Dance With Dragons from the Author: George R. R. Martin. #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • THE BOOK BEHIND THE FIFTH SEASON OF THE ACCLAIMED HBO SERIES GAME OF THRONES Don’t miss the thrilling sneak peek of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire: Book Six, The Winds of Winter Dubbed “the American Tolkien” by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the #1 New York Times bestselling author delivers the fifth book in his landmark series—as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire. A DANCE WITH DRAGONS A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE: BOOK FIVE In the aftermath of a colossal battle, the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance—beset by newly emerging threats from every direction. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, rules with her three dragons as queen of a city built on dust and death. But Daenerys has thousands of enemies, and many have set out to find her. As they gather, one young man embarks upon his own quest for the queen, with an entirely different goal in mind. Fleeing from Westeros with a price on his head, Tyrion Lannister, too, is making his way to Daenerys. But his newest allies in this quest are not the rag-tag band they seem, and at their heart lies one who could undo Daenerys’s claim to Westeros forever. Meanwhile, to the north lies the mammoth Wall of ice and stone—a structure only as strong as those guarding it. There, Jon Snow, 998th Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, will face his greatest challenge. For he has powerful foes not only within the Watch but also beyond, in the land of the creatures of ice. From all corners, bitter conflicts reignite, intimate betrayals are perpetrated, and a grand cast of outlaws and priests, soldiers and skinchangers, nobles and slaves, will face seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Some will fail, others will grow in the strength of darkness. But in a time of rising restlessness, the tides of destiny and politics will lead inevitably to the greatest dance of all. Praise for A Dance with Dragons “Filled with vividly rendered set pieces, unexpected turnings, assorted cliffhangers and moments of appalling cruelty, A Dance with Dragons is epic fantasy as it should be written: passionate, compelling, convincingly detailed and thoroughly imagined.”—The Washington Post “Long live George Martin . . . a literary dervish, enthralled by complicated characters and vivid language, and bursting with the wild vision of the very best tale tellers.”—The New York Times “One of the best series in the history of fantasy.”—Los Angeles Times From the Paperback edition.
